Governor Vacancies at St Mary’s Catholic First School, Dorchester
We are looking to recruit new Governors at St Mary’s and are looking for people with skills and/or experience in SEND and Inclusion, Curriculum and Standards, and Safeguarding.
Training and support will be provided.
What do Governors do?
Governors are ‘overseers’ of the school. Whilst the day-to-day running of the school and operational decisions are delegated to the school’s leadership team, the Governors are responsible for the long-term strategic decisions regarding the school.
What would you need to commit to?
Governors carry out their role through monitoring, discussion and strategic suggestions. This occurs through:
- Six full Local CAST Board (LCB) meetings (approximately 2 hours in an evening)
- Three monitoring visits (arranged between you and a member of school staff at a mutually convenient time)
