If you contribute by Standing Order, via the Website or the Card Machine and pay tax you may be eligible to join the Gift Aid Scheme.
What is Gift Aid? Gift Aid is the method used by Government to allow charities, including Holy Trinity Church, to obtain a tax refund on donations made to them. At present we receive a refund of £10 for every £40 of donations made through Gift Aid. The Gift Aid Scheme is simple, involves very few formalities and is an essential source of revenue for Holy Trinity.
To join the scheme, you must pay sufficient tax to cover the tax reclaimed on all your Gift Aid donations. You need to sign a standard declaration that your donations are to count for Gift Aid and make your contributions in such a way that they can be recorded. The best way to achieve this is by setting up a Standing Order with your bank. Please consider Gift Aiding your donations. LINK : 34 Dorchester GAD – GIving Page.pdf
Forms are also available at the back of the Church and from the Parish Office. Please contact dorchester@prcdtr.org.uk if you would like further information.
Legacies are a tax-free way to provide much welcome financial support towards the future of the Church. Please consider including Holy Trinity RC Church when preparing your Will.
These designated collections are taken as retiring collections after Masses and are mostly in aid of specific charities mandated by the Diocese or at the discretion of the Parish Priest. Part of the Church’s mission is to aid those who are in need both at home and abroad. Second Collections are generally pre-advertised in the Church’s Newsletter and further information supplied by the Parish Priest. You can usually contribute in cash or by using the card machine.
There are appeals for individual maintenance and updating projects at the Church and Parish Centre. These are advertised in the weekly newsletter. Recent appeals have included the Refurbishment of the Organ (2025) and the Purchase of New Lectionaries (2024).
Annual Fundraising events for the Parish include the Parish Summer Fete and participation in the Dorset Historic Churches Ride & Stride. Information regarding these events is normally posted in the Newsletter. If you would like to organise or assist with a fundraising event then please contact the Parish Priest to discuss.
Catholic groups also organise fundraising events in the Parish during the year and more information about the groups can be found on the EVENTS page of the website.
