CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE:

The CWL was founded in 1906 by Margaret Fletcher. Her ideals were based on common fellowship, the promotion of religious, intellectual and social work, and the encouragement of women to look beyond the family and be involved in parochial and world affairs. The Dorchester Section raises funds for CWL charities and local causes through coffee mornings, Lent Lunches and organised outings. We assist in Parish activities, Holy Hours and ecumenical services. We meet on the last Tuesday of the month at 7.00 pm, with time to socialise and be entertained – sometimes with a Speaker. Our members welcome you to join our friendly and caring group. Contact: Elizabeth Wilson, Chair (01305 26875)

Please note: CWL meetings held in January and November begin at 3pm. There are no meetings in August and December.

CAFOD:

The CAFOD Support group has been working in the Parish for 15 years. We organise social events in the Parish to raise awareness of poverty in the developing world and to raise money to help alleviate suffering. Our typical events include communal breakfasts, an annual concert, quiz and harvest supper, in addition to organising two national fast days. Each year we have a Holy Hour to help keep our focus on the spiritual aspect of the work and to strengthen our commitment. New members are most warmly welcome.
