Sisters are currently working in South Africa, Kenya, Chad, Cameroon, Tanzania, Brazil, Philippines, and several states in India in addition to Italy and England.
ABOUT

The Congregation of the Daughters of St. Francis De Sales (DSFS) was started in Lugo, Ravenna, Italy, in 1872 by the Servant of God Fr. CARLO CAVINA who was then Parish Priest of Lugo. The Charism of the DSFS is to be Apostles of prayer and Educators of faith.
At the present time, DSFS missions are working in South Africa, Kenya, Chad, Cameroon, Tanzania, Brazil, Philippines, and several states in India in addition to Italy and England.
Our own DSFS Convent in Dorchester gives pastoral and educational support to the local community through the visiting of the sick, elderly and housebound, the teaching of catechism for the youth and adults in the Parish, through prayer and support for Holy Masses. In addition, the Sisters are helping to raise much needed funds for the mission of the DSFS in India who maintain the De Sales Education Centre for Deaf and Blind Children based in Andhra Pradesh, as well as a number of orphanages that have been set up to shelter girls in the local communities and clinics that have been set up in remote areas to provide medicines and nursing assistance. Other activities include pastoral care of the sick and the aged as well as the teaching of catechism and visiting families.
